Design Development Phase

The following is a presentation that was given to the School Committee on November 13, 2024, the same presentation was made to the City Council on November 12, 2024.  This presentation is of the schematic design for the new school. The design has evolved quite fast from the conceptual design that was completed in early 2024.  The end of December 2024 mark the end of the Design Development phase of the project.   The a motion to fund the project was introduced to the Quincy City Council on November 12, 2024.  The City Council voted to authorize the full funding of the project on December 16, 2024.  Following the approval of the appropriation of funds, the City and the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) will execute a Project Funding Agreement (PFA) which will formalize the State grant for the project.  The design team will begin the Contract Document Phase of the project in early 2025 which will be the last design phase before the project is put out to bid in the Summer of 2025.
